Terrence in Sierra Madre
« on: July 09, 2012, 01:53:39 pm »
What happened to Terrence in Sierra Madre?  Haven't heard him in months, maybe a year.  He was a No-Show for the Smack Off this year.

Word is Terrence isn't happy with the show's direction and thus doesn't want to call anymore, but that's only what I've heard.

Is anyone happy with the shows direction? used 2 be freaking amazing but now it's more of the same jokes every show. the main things i loved about rome were his clone participation and willingness 2 have a reputation as being the most edgy sports talk host in the world. It's how he made his name. Now those things aren't nearly as prevalent and I have to think it's because of Rome selliing out 2 become what sponsors want, he has (admittedly) grown softer in his age, things are different with new producers etc., or he wrongly thinks his job will be on the line if clones push the envelope. Howard Stern is by far worse in all of those ways than Rome will ever be and Stern makes phat bank. Personally I say bring the show back 2 when it was in it's glory days. Greg in Vegas is with me. Who else?

Absolutely none of the faxes from back in the day would ever get in the jungle now. for those new clones listen 2 this and try not 2 laugh. keep in mind this would never make today's show

Sad thing is, just like Joe in the OC, Doc Mike and Iafrate, Terrence is now in that zone where he'll NEVER win the smack off from here on out, no matter how good his call is.  He's not "new breed" enough.  99% sure that unless he royally flames out, the story arc will get completed next year, and Mike in Indy will get his "Feel good moment", even if his call is just average.   Rome's Smack Off judging is more fixed/pre-determined than WWE at this point.

So there's really no point in Terrence calling, sadly.

after this years smackoff debacle and then mike in indy v. chael  i quickly lost interest in the show and quit listening. it's just not the same anymore.  it was in '97 when i first started listening to it. 610 in houston dropped it, so it speaks of the show.  so i'll just listen to the takebox here and reflect and play in the arcade.

Terrance if you do call again just some words of wisdom. Don't talk about Chael's declining skill set, overrated smack, colorful MMA underoos, and complete lack of clutch gene. Jim Rome won't like it and will probably get off Chael's lap to come over and hit you with his purse.
