Your goalie is Jose Theodore. Need I say more?
You mean the guy who has is 10-0 in his last 10 games with a gaa under 2, a save % well over .900 and has beaten the Pens twice in that stretch?
Oh okay.
IT IS FEBRUARY. GET A GRIP
.
History says he sucks. So, have fun with that.
History says that Fleury plays great in the playoffs. A Ring and almost another says so.
Have I guaranteed anything yet? Trust me I'm not 100% sold on Theo yet, but he's playing great and it's not like our chances are just riding on him anyway, and hell the way our offense is producing he can give up 3-4 a game and it won't matter. Besides, Varlamov & Neuvirth are both pretty damn good themselves, which gives us the best goalie depth in the league. Granted both are unproven in their careers in the playoffs thus far. We'll see what happens come playoff time, and whether the Caps win or lose I'll be here.
Bullshit, the Stars have Kari Lehtonen now so WE have the best goalie depth in the league /s/ Reed
Goalie depth doesn't mean anything come playoff time. You need to have a bona-fide number one to carry the team to victory in order to be successful. When was the last time a team won the cup using two goalies throughout the playoffs? Probably 1967 - the last time the Leafs won the damned thing. Then again, both Johnny Bower and Terry Sawchuck are Hall of Famers (and were in their 40s when they won)...

Looks like the Devils & Swords are going into late-season tank mode to the Pens benefit. Question for the Pens right now looks like it could goaltending, the offensively challenged Rangers kicked Fleury's ass the other night and Brent Johnson isn't winning anything at this point in his career.

Penguins
I think they'd be better off having Mr. Sieve in net than Marc Andre Fleury.

That's right, they're done - get out the golf clubs boys cuz you lost game 1
Same goes for the Sharks, Devils and Wings.
I like this new single game elimination playoff format that the NHL has adopted. I'm starting a Boges for Commish campaign today. If anyone is capable of replacing Bettman, it's Boges

I never said they were done.
But losing the first game at home and having your staring goalie play that bad isn't terribly gode.

I don't think the Pens are done by any means, but in the last month Fleury has been crapping the bed on a regular basis. And Brent Johnson is their backup, so if Fleury doesn't get his sh*t together the Pens will be playing golf within the next week to ten days.

And if Ovi doesn't shoot, the Pens and Caps can have a 46 man scramble.

The Caps had 47 shots without him having one last night so there were plenty of scoring chances in spite of him not having a shot. Give the Habs D credit for shutting him down and give Halak major credit for slamming the door shut all game. Needless to say Fleury is 50 times more important to the Pens than Ovie is to the Caps since he's the goalie. The Caps would have lead the league in goals this year without Ovie having any. Just saying.
Fleury seems like a mental case, dude flies off the handle way too easily (reference the last Caps/Pens game).

I am not jumping off of the Fleury bandwagon just yet. Dude has taken this team to 2 straight Finals, and won one of them.
