I haven't really recorded in a long time. Back in the day, I was always in a band, mostly metal and heavier stuff and we recorded on tape with a Fostex or a Tascam 8-track(remember tape?). As I've gotten older, I have grown bored with that somewhat... Nowadays, I play blues and southern rock style music...kind of a heavy country sound. I still like the metal gear though (Marshalls and Ibanez) but I find it to be more fun playing to a rock/blues/country crowd. There are usually more girls in the crowd as well.  Also, I can enjoy a few more adult beverages and still play fairly well. I can rock the minor-pentatonic with 15 drinks and 2 joints in me alot better than I can play Raining Blood or Master of Puppets sober!

Currently, I am on the hunt for a band to join. I just moved to NC. I have pro-gear and not much ego, (isn't that what every bar band wants?) I do love to play live music!

Nah, I learned volumes buy learning some Edge. That b string/open e solo method is f*cking powerful. He didn't invent it, in fact Neil Young did it better than anyone. But there is something to be learned from it.
I racked you for being a student of the instrument...but really, volumes?  C'mon, lets be honest here... Sure, there is always something to learn from other people and their style, and nothing is really new or fresh anymore, but volumes?   Besides, my knock was on the style of music in general, not the guitar players. I like guitar players in almost every band. My problems start when the singer starts fagging up good music with whiny, shit lyrics.  WAR INSTRUMENTALS!

Calm down fellas!  I am not a hater of any music really...  But I usually dislike singers in general. Im not here to put down anyones favorite bands...not even Alex's.  I mean really, one of my all time favorite bands is Motley Crue, enough said right?  I love music. I love to make music. I appreciate what goes in to the creative process.  I just dont love singers...That goes for Bono and Robert Smith just as much as Vince Neil and Axl Rose. It is my personal opinion that lyrics and the douchebags that sing them just get in the way of all the best songs.

There are always exceptions, of course (Skynyrd).... Don't be mad, I was just ranting earlier. I couldn't just tell you what a nice guitar that was andleave it at that, right? I gave out appropriate racks and a disclaimer to all involved BEFORE I made any comments.  Let us have some form of peace in the music forum along with some fun, since peace does not exist outside of it!

carry on...

UNWAR breaking a bass string!  Too damn expensive to replace. Well, at least it wasn't the low B-string. I can buy a set of 4 instead of a set of 5.
