Will Terence finally lose the title 'best caller to never win?'

Terence will never pull off a winning call because, simply, he lacks the brainpower to be "witty and clever" enough.  I'd love for him to prove me wrong, but I don't see it happening.  Listen to his best Smackoff call vs Greg or Joe's best Smackoff calls and see what I mean.  He is miles behind.

I think it's Greg.

Greg can bring the heat and run it up there with some serious mph's and his smack is always good enough to win until he drops an unsavory amputation reference. If he doesn't do something stupid to get run, he's got the best chance to win of the potential first-timers.

Not to speak for Steve, but I think the context of the question was of the ones who have never won it who has the best chance.

When I first heard Terrence I couldn't understand why Rome wouldn't hang up on him. Then very quickly I figured it out, Terrence is hilarious and has a good sense of timing. That was in the early 90's. Terrence used to be a "two sports" star by being a regular faxer too. That said, I must be a Terrence homer because I thought he should have won it more than once already. To me Seanie never was all that. Kerwin, Bobby from Brooklyn and Jim from Fall River were ahead of him. But once JR crawls up into a caller's happy cavity he holds on like a stubborn tapeworm ex: Jeff in Richmond.

The first call I ever heard in the jungle was from Terrance.  I was cracking up and it was just an average day for him.  I will be a Terrance homer forever, and if he ever wins it will be a miracle, but who knows.

I love Terrence myself.  When he gets going, he is pound for pound the greatest call ever.  Call for call, no one even comes close.

But I think it's now or never, Iafrate might be weak having won last year, and Jim is high on Terrence for showing up at Santa Anita (or Hollywood Park or whatever), so if Terrence comes strong like in 2004 or 2005, it could very well be his year.

I think Joe is in it to win it, and he's got as good a chance as anyone.  Greg will have to change his style a little bit to win it.  Amputee blasts and mimicking Glengarry Glenn Ross just won't do it.

If Iafrate shows up, and comes strong, I think it is his to lose.

Yup, tomorrow is the Iafrate Invitational.
